Why we changed our name to Evyon

Evyon - originally founded under the name RePack - sprung out of the Antler incubation program during the fall of 2020 as a response to the quickly growing volumes of discarded EV batteries. The founders Jørgen and Radu quickly saw the vast potential of this opportunity, and managed to secure the first private investment from Antler during the course of six weeks from inception.

Radu, Evyon’s co-founder & COO, shares: “The company’s first name - RePack - was a perfect fit to the original idea: To repackage discarded EV batteries.”

But as the founders gathered more speed and continued to realize the opportunities in front of them, they quickly realized that the name only covered part of their vision. This led the team through a renaming process which eventually landed on Evyon. Evyon encompasses many meanings - forever on, EV, ions, view - and flows perfectly with the company’s vision: A fully renewable future for everyone. The name comprises several important elements:

• It means "forever on" - an important promise to our customers

• It's made out of "EV" and "ion" - both important aspects of where we come from

• It's part of our vision - a fully renewable future for everyone

• It has endless room for our ambitions to unfold

Co-founder & CEO Jørgen highlights how the team already has embraced the new name: “Although we, our customers, and all our investors and supporters really liked RePack, we already love Evyon! It both contains elements of where we come from while making room for all our plans and ambitions.”

Radu also adds his excitement about the new name: “Our new name, really unlocks our potential both internally and externally - to our team, customers and partners - we work tirelessly to maximize the value of every battery, making our solutions sustainable and accessible. The logo and branding also reflect our inclusive and diverse nature.”

The name change brings with it a new brand identity and new website. Despite the significant visual changes, Evyon’s mission stays unchanged. We exist as a company to maximize the value of every battery to accelerate into a fully renewable future for everyone. Evyon continues to develop high-quality battery systems as before, and the products already delivered under the RePack brand will continue to be supported under the new brand.
